Dr. David Ssekamatte is currently a Consultant/ Lecturer, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) at the Uganda Management Institute and has more than 18 years’ experience in programme management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), participatory research and strategy management. He has published widely in areas of M&E and educational research and believes in evidence-based project programming. He has delivered on consultancy assignments in development evaluation, baseline surveys, mid- term evaluation, strategy development, and needs assessment for multi-stakeholder relationships. He facilitated the development and operationalization of various M&E systems and frameworks for various NGOs and government agencies. He has also been engaged in training of M&E Professionals at both short term and long-term levels especially at post graduate levels. David has worked with various education service and health related development organizations as a Programme Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager before he joined academia. His research interests are mainly in the areas of sustainability and climate change education, environmental citizenship education, sustainability management, higher education management as well as Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). David was a NAFSA (Association of International Educators) Senior Fellow (2020-2021) and was part of the five (5) Senior Fellows that supported NAFSA to provide intellectual groundwork and develop resources on climate change, sustainability, and international higher education. Currently David is a postdoctoral fellow 2022-2024 under the FAR-LeaF Future Africa Programme coordinated by the University of Pretoria funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The postdoctoral research is on integration of climate change and sustainability education in the business and management training at two Universities in Uganda. David holds a PhD in Education and Social Sciences of Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany, and a Master of Arts in Economics of University of Lucknow in India.
