Universities’ contribution to the world’s sustainable development agenda has received significant attention over the past years.

Surveys with potential students show that students are increasingly considering the impact of the institutions of their choice and how they engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

While higher education institutions contribute to the SDGs through research and teaching, much of the discourse in international higher education has mainly focused on the carbon footprint of international students and staff air travel.

  • Is there more to international higher education and its contribution to the world’s sustainable development
  • Can we continue to engage with the world’s global talent and be kind to the environment?
