Commissioner for Victoria to Southeast Asia
AUSTRALIA

Rebecca commenced as Victorian Commissioner to Southeast Asia in September 2020.

Rebecca represents the State of Victoria’s trade and investment interests across Southeast Asia and manages the Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) offices located in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City. As Commissioner, Rebecca also actively promotes high level government to government and cultural linkages between Victoria and Southeast Asia.

Rebecca is an experienced executive in trade, investment and education engagement with more than 25 years working in government, not-for-profits and education settings. Rebecca is a collaborative leader who is driven to make a difference for Victorian business in South East Asia.

Her qualifications include a Bachelor of International Business Relations (Griffith University), a Masters of International Relations (Bond University) and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (Griffith University). She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and has served on a number of boards and not for profits over the past 15 years.

Rebecca is a Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA), and in 2019 was the recipient of the IEAA Leadership Award for her service to the sector and leadership in policy and strategy at local and state levels. In 2021, Rebecca was appointed as the first Global Ambassador for the Climate Action Network for International Education (CANIE).
